Hydroxyl is a safe, efficient, naturally occurring compound. It is present in Earth's atmosphere and removes pollution from the air. Hydroxyls and free hydroxyl radicals occur when the UVC radiation removes the hydrogen atom (H) from the water molecule (H2O) creating negative hydroxyl ions and some hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which helps to clean the air The process is based on a hydrogen bond created between the hydrogen atom and other atoms.
